Oh man that is so shitty...

My heart goes out to you.... I pray they find your car, ok and in 1 piece.

Was it the black 90 SSE in your sig that was stolen?
Because that car looks almost identical to my black 91 SSE which is my baby. I'm going to go out and check the locks/alarm on her right now.

That sucks. I have driving in Detroit for that reason. I had my gas cap stolen there, but that's nothing compared to you. I hope it gets found.

not its my other one. it has the Black Rims. yea, im sad.... :frown: i am stuck driving a Grand Prix right now. it my mothers. shes just been driving her Dodge Ram. you should expecially check your remote, thats how i armed it... and i guess the remote did lock the doors or something.

That definately sucks about your car. I would be so pissed if I were you too. Look on the bright side, at least your not driving a Metro. I know I would never park my car in Detroit without me being able to see it all times, just because that place kinda freaks me out for some reason, I don't know why but I just don't feel safe there. I hope they find the car, in 1 piece, just as it was stolen, and the guy that stole it is in it so they can arrest them.

I can't imagine what that feels like, my Bonneville was stolen out of my grandparents driveway when they had it. This was like 10 years ago or so. Turns out it was some kids. They smashed the window and keyed the door. But it was found in a parking lot not far away.

You'd think a 1990 Bonne would be a low risk car  good luck Devon, you have our sympathies :(

it is hella scary how easy it is to steal the earlier H-Bodies.. the doors were hard to break into (using a slim jim to get in) but they could be stolen just by cracking the steering column then getting to the wires from there. No, I've never done this before.. a guy I used to work with stole cars for a living basically and he was telling me how easily he could steal my lesabre if he really wanted to.

I want to go to the detroit autoshow in February but I don't even dare drive the new car there.. I think a lot of the *ahem* type of people that hang out in detroit would love to steal that car to be their "pimp mobile."

Just curious, but how many of you have after market alarms installed on your cars?

I have a CompuStar system installed on mine. It's a 2way pager system. I know if someone so much as breathes on the car. Range is about 1km. Cost for the unit, installed was $600 (Cdn), inc tax. http://www.compustar.org

Wow. That looks like a very nice protection system.

Merlin 91/97 06-13-2003 12:21 AM

Yea it's a pretty cool system. You can set it so that the car automatically locks when you walk away from it, and automatically unlocks when you walk up to it. It's able to tell the distance from the remote/key chain, to the car.

I got the system with the automatic starter too, great for those Canadian winters. I can start the car from inside a shopping mall, and have it nice and warm by the time I get to it.

The alarm has only gone off once, I had it parked at my girlfriends place, and someone tried the door handle (which set off the alarm) at like 4am. I didn't hear the car alarm, but the remote buzzed and went off, which woke me. I ran outside with a piece of wood, but the guy jumped a fence and ran off.
