Well, that'* it... It'* gone...
Sad day today... Signed the title of the Bonneville away. Was looking at a lot of repairs for the winter (shocks, struts, springs, power steering, rad.......) so decided to move on before it died. Frame between the windshield and sunroof was all rusted too, so wasnt really safe.
306,000KM and just under 16 years of faithful service. When the day comes that I can get a new one ($$$) then I am going to remember the '88.
In the meantime, my Santa Fe will have big shoes (er, tires) to fill. (Don't laugh.. For the money, its the best thing going. Feel free to mock me, but drive one first. My dad bought one, and I liked it so much that it was my first car to try and deal on.)
Thanks for the help over the past little while, and I hope to be back here with more Bonneville questions in a few years!

The Santa Fe is a good truck Nick, be good to it. I'm sure the old 88 did you well. Its hard to see one of our beloved 87-91'* go, but, as things age...what would you expect.
No mocking over here...once Bonne owner...always a Bonne owner, it never really goes away.
Drop by...say hi and RIP 88 SSE
Take care Nick

I know your pain. It was hard for me to sign away my 1989 SSE, She went to 438,000KM and same problem as you though- too many things went all at once, and the rust was taking the toll on the frame....
Only difference was I bought another one and did it up! :P
