Is it losing vacuum below 1000 rpm? Have you tested for leaks?

I have tested what seems like every tube, sensor etc. Ever since the harmonic balancer, its been problem after problem, but thats expected on old cars. Oh well.

Im going to have the problem looked into, and will probably retire it to a family member if anyone wants it.

On the other hand though, I hope you reconsider and try to fix it. It will almost certainly be cheaper to fix this than to buy something else (well, depends on what you buy, I suppose).

Have you tried unplugging the Tranny wires, to disable TCC? maybe your lockup is stuck, and this would cause the engine to stall when you slow down...

There is another thought... This would be a good test... Not sure if it will solve anything, but its worth a shot...

I would not reccomend doing this for a long period of time tho... These transmissions will overheat severely if they never hit TCC lockup

As well it would increase line pressure..but is ok for a test...just not a long term fix.
