Finally decided to go Synthetic!!
Well, last week, Canadian tire had the sale on Mobil one SUPER SYN 10W30 motor oil jugs. 4.4 liters for 29.99 CDN. Bought 2 jugs. Also went to the dealer, and bought 2 AC delco filters.
Been ok, so far. I'm still checking for leaks, and making sure everything is good. The motor has aproximatly 140,000 kms on it, and I'm sure this is the first time synthetic has been used on it.
Oil pressure seems to be slightly higher, like 550 KPA at 1500 RPM, so that must be good. Fuel mileage seems to be slightly better. I'll know when I make a road trip, or the next time I start tracking my mileage down. Maybe i'm just imagining the fuel mileage going up everytime I add something to the car, lol.
On the down side however.. I just poked my finger through a rust hole in the rear drivers wheel well. I was hoping to NOT touch it until summertime. Sheesh! Also, the drivers side rocker panel is starting to rot through. Winter is ALOT harder on a vehicle than what I imagined. Hopefully I can permanently repair the trouble spots in the summertime to NOT worry about it next winter.
Tommorrow, gotta renew the registration, 89 dollars. Yikes, owning a car is expensive for a 19 year old..

Synthetic is the way to go if you can afford the cost.
I personally never had an oil / engine related failure so I have decided to leave well enough alone.
Just too expensive to supply the 5 cars I maintain.

I know KPA is silly, but thats what the guage reads. Sheesh, should be PSI!!
Also the temp guage reads celcius..
I feel better with the synthetic. After that catastrophic engine failure I had last year, I feel better with the synthetic. Plus, using AC Delco'* PF-47 filter also helps me, lol.

I ran synthetic in my Lumina when I had that, and when I changed it every 2700 miles or so it would still be clear. I love the stuff personally.
