Default Delco Igniition question - 1990 Bonneville SE

I tried once before with no luck but after my magnavox coil lierally just melted, I tried to put in the delco ignition I had in once again. The question I have is can I use the default plug wires i had with the magnavox? If not, would that be why my car still won't start?

Cranks fine, doesn't start, and I don't know if the plug wires for the different ignition matters or not. Thanks!

Plug wires should be fine. Check fuse #6 on the passenger side. It might have blown when the other ignition system melted.

I went ahead and got a replacement magnavox style coil for now as I can't be without my car. Its idling fairly rough now and I'[m wondering if the ICM could've been damaged when the coils melted.
Or it might've been that vacuum line that wasn't hooked up to anything that was just sucking in open air. That never occured to me

I had a second car here in case this one went down but of course the starter lost a large piece of itself when I tried to use the 2nd one yesterday.

Not entirely sure but I doubt it. I've tried two different ICMs with the delco coils with no luck and its been pushed back to a rainy day project. Was hoping I'd just get lucky and overlooked something like the cables which was not the case!
