Intermittant code 41, and check engine light.

I replaced my camshaft magnet, with gm's replacement. I did not take it apart or anything, just took timing gear off, and popped it into place.

After that, my check engine light went off. Drove it on, and then the darn light came on. Changed my battery yesterday, and allowed time for the ecm to clear trouble codes.
Now, today, it came on, again. Got it home, went off. I tried pulling codes, and I got the stupid 41 again!!! But thing is, the check engine light is off!!

I am gonna re-disconnect and reconnect my battery, to see if this helps.
But, if not, then whats the solution?? Is my ecm bad? I really don't want to change it either, thats a hassle.

Thanks.

lets take it one thing at a time. if the code clears w/ the battery being disconnected, then you are all set, if it dont, then do the following:

take the cam sensor out, and see if you can see the magnet. if the magnet is intact, then you need to check the sensor and wiring. it may be possible, if the magent is intact, the sensor may be bad, or even wiring to the sensor. take a look if the battery unplugged doesnt fix anything, then let us know ;)

Well, When I put the new battery in on monday, there was no power to the ecm for about 30-40 mins. I put the new battery in, and after a while the SES light came on, and off, on and off. Several times at different periods of times.
I pulled a code 41.
I disconnected the battery again, and left it for the night. Connected it this morning, and so far, so good.
Maybe its also b/c I left the key in the "on" position all night or whatnot. It seems to work fine now.
Hope it stays that way!
