My first thought was the IAC. Have you at least cleaned it recently? Could be carbon deposits keeping it from functioning properly.

Another thought that comes to mind is a faulty TPS, but I would think that it would throw a code by now.
Speaking of codes, are you getting any?

Not sure if TB/IAC setup is similar or not.
It did quiet it down a lot though, surprisingly.

Seafoam FTW. Though it makes me feel like it'* not doing anything on this car when it doesn't make a hellacious cloud of smoke :(. But it'* still fun.

It has been suggested multiple times that you check or replace all your vacuum lines. I may have missed your confirmation that you have accomplished this vital step. I can tell that you are not opposed to spending money to fix the car, but I've always found it is best to start with the easiest and cheapest things first.
You could purchase a vacuum gauge and check it yourself, but you will still need to make sure all your vacuum hoses and connectors are intact and in good condition.
