Default CV Joint Replacement

When i turn corners i get a clunking sounds. I have come to the conclusion as the cv joint, correct me if i am wrong. I think someone else is having this problem too recently. I was wondering how hard it would be to change these out my self. I dont really have a lot of tools, can get some if needed though. And how much would i be looking at for spending?
Thanks

is it during acceleration from a start around corners?

Take a look under the car and see if there is any grease all over your axle shaft. You will probably be able to see if your CV boot is torn. If so, replace the entire half shaft. The cost of the parts and labour for the boot is the same as the entire shaft assembly itself. And more damage may have already been done to the mechanical parts inside the boot (now that its torn open).

I had this problem on my Bonneville and I had the shaft replaced...good luck.

Default cv joint

I usally do mine myself if I catch the ripped boot early. I just replace the boot.
It seems to get harder evertime I do it.
I wouldn't reccomend this job to the do it yourselfer unless you are skilled at prying ball joints and suspensions apart with 10 foot recking bars.
