Power Steering Stiff?
Ok the power steering in my 87 is REALLY stiff on slow right turns and when it'* cold. I've noticed a lot of mid to late 80'* gm'* do this. What causes this? Is it the seals inside the rack?

What'* the ambient temp in your area? I'm thinking that the fluid is to thick and the pump can't move it as easily as nice warm fluid.

Does it make any noises, perhaps? When you turn to the left, does it have the same resistance as the right? It may be you are low on fluid. Or like lakeville mentioned that the fluid is too thick for the pump to flow the necessary amount and pressure.

No it only occurs to the right, fluid is full, and it happens all the time, just more PRONOUNCED in the cold. Lakeville- I live in richfield so u know what the ambient temp. is. COLD. But it really makes no difference of what temp outside is, once it warms up under the hood it really only does it during SLOW right turns (15MPH or less).
