help needed for hi beam indicator

Just picked up a "free" 89 Bonneville LE from my inlaws. Overall, it's in good condition for it's age. However, while following my wife home tonight. She called on her cell phone and asked why my lights were on "Hi" beams. No hi beam indicator was on. I pulled the switch and the lights DID change to low beam.

So, my question is: should I target the Hi beam bulb in the cluster or do you think I should look at a wiring issue somewhere?

Hello and Welcome to the club!

It's probably just the bulb.

Do you have an idea how to get to it?

Todd.

No, I don't. I can see that the "wood-grain" plastic cover just snaps off. I'm assuming There are a few screws under that, but not sure from there.

I would say that your probably right. I've never owned that year.
If I where you I would contact one of the members here that have the same year as you so you can compare notes.

Sorry I can't offer a better solution.

Have you ever taken anything apart in your car before? Just go easy with it, take your time. Learn from what you do and share with others.

Todd.

Thanks. I got it off and it was in fact the bulb. A short trip down to Advance Auto has fixed me up. Now on to the other stuff that needs to be fixed!

Hey Great to hear! Good Job.

Was it hard to take apart?
