Has anyone cleared their corners?

Is this even possible on our cars? I tried taking the yellow piece off of a spare I had but it just looked like crap.

I want to do this myself, my driver's side turn signal is broken [the orange cover that is]. Well, I thought i'd move the bulb to the body, versus the bottom.. that way i'd have some clear ones. But the problem here is that what to do with the bottom piece where the bulb used to be? I was thinking of covering it up with some fiberglass, or other opaque material, but I think that would look bad, because the headlight goes down, and the turn signal wouldn't? Pretty stupid. So, I am thinking i'd just leaving it as is. Too bad the 92-99 turn signals don't fit our cars [already thought of that, asked merlin 91/97, he said they were completly different]. Oh well, we've got to come up with something creative though ;)
