Maybe the battery... How old is the battery? Does the car start OK?

Are you getting the right amperage alternator?

the battery is a new one they placed at gm..I dont understand why its doing that..the charge light came on..they replaced the alternator..then okay , then the light came back on...when i revved the engine up the light went off and the guage was ok..it would do that for a while..now it just stays on even when i rev the car up..Ive changed the alternator..put a new one in and the light stayed on..is it possible something isnt grounding right ..if anyone has had the same prob...maybe they could give me a hand..as i picked up a new alternator today and am scared to put it in , i dont want to ruin another one...

Is the + terminal on the back of the alternator grounding out against something?

I put a new alternator in, the charge light is off...but when i drive now..the interior lights come on by themselves.. and at times the whole electronic system will shut off all the dash lights flash..and then comes back on..it resets the clock all my stereo settings as if u were to disconnect and reconnect the battery..Is there any way I can check ....also, how can u tell if the +wire is grounding out against something....

Have you scrubbed and cleaned your battery terminals (with a wire brush) and also the cables and connections leading to the battery lately?

I would try to see the back of the alternator while the engine is running, to see if you can see sparks. The battery + wire when hooked to the alternator is very close to a ground, namely, the alternator case. Just check to make sure the two are separate.

These are ideas. You may have a loose connection somewhere else. If someone else has had this problem, maybe they could chime in here.

Should check your ground connections. I had the same thing happen in my T/A and it was a loose ground strap.
