fuel efficent boners?
a dream or reality?

what could be done to make them more fuel efficent?
lets post some suggestions, hopefully we can all help each other in saving some money on gas by making our cars more efficent. so lets hear what everyone has to add to this.

properly inflated tires. thats a big un.

A good tune up does wonders. An engine running like it is supposed to is a lot more efficient. Until I replaced coils, plugs and wires I was only getting 16 mpg, now I am back in the low 20's with a mix of driving. I also replaced the oxygen sensor with a new AC delco sensor. When the engine runs good it saves me money and makes me happy.

new balance walking shoes... cuz walking's the only thing you can really do to save gas

I agree on all of the tuneup items...

Spark plugs( if they haven't been done in a while )
Plug wires ( Same as above )
Air Filter ( our engines need and want to inhale )
Fuel system formula ( $8-$10 a bottle, keeps injectors happy )
Correctly functioning T-Stat( 180F-195F ) A stuck open thermostat will kill MPG's

Replacement AC Delco O2 ( if you have 50,000-60,000 miles on the current one )

Delco ignition upgrade ( fire a bit hotter )
Good exahust flow( as in a non clogged converter )

I feel all of these things will contribute to fuel effiency.... Good Luck.. :wink:

I noticed the biggest difference after changing my O2, but all of the above are great ideas.

ill add changing the fuel filter to that list, if its not rusted
air filter.. and check for fuel leaks!

If you are going to replace the air filter, you may as well upgrade to a CAI. With the horrible restrictions and turbulance [in the accordian pipe] of the stock airbox, the CAI will make the biggest difference. If I find my air filter, I'll take a picture of it, it was beyond disgusting.. but I still got 19mpg [with 120k O2 Sensor, 75k plugs, and 75k plug wires]. I'll betcha any money that the air filter out-flowed the stock airbox.
