Default Sensor display panel no longer functioning?

Hey guys,

My 89' Bonneville LE'* display sensor panel [middle of dash] no longer is functioning. I know it isn't a bulb issue, because when I start the car the lights all turn on as normal. However, it is not telling me when doors or trunk are open, and I don't know if it'* not telling me more... any ideas?

Did it ever work? What does it say directly above the display?

Are you sure it doesn't say "system monitor"?

Oh, and when the light hits it just right, you look you can see all the places that are "supposed" to light up... including some angled areas, *gasp* the same way the doors open out!

You might want to try to be calm when posting, it gets more help.

When you start the car, do all of the open doors and everything else light up? That'* what my 89 used to do.

I am quite calm in the manner, but I apologize when I'm getting 90 questions about well, "Are you sure it doesnt' say this?" I wouldn't have posted what it said if I wasn't sure or I was blind.

Almost everything turns on for the monitor, but primarily washer fluid, and things inside the engine portion of it... then shut off when the car is on and started.

Edit: Forgot to include that the doors do not light up [or the trunk for that manner] when starting up the car. None of them. I do not know if that is standard or what.

You know what... I think I just mastered the art of making a complete and total *** of myself, and I apologize. It does say System Monitor, and I hopped all over your case for nothing. You were right, and I got on your case about it, I'm sorry. I've been stressed and frustrated lately, and I've taken it out on all the wrong places. Sorry.
