EGR Fuel Rail Valve Question

Will any series I, II, III, EGR valves fit a Vin "C" ?

Is the Schrader valve on the fuel rail replacable and if so will a regular tire valve stem work?

Thanks

No, series I up to '94 got a digital EGR 94+ got a linear

IIRC The schrader valve is actually part of the fuel rail. I guess if you're really motivated you could find a way to replace it but a new fuel rail would probably be easier. Its also larger than a tire valve.

There was a brief period (think 1992) where the "L" engine had no EGR. "C" engines all have the triple solenoid "digital" EGR. The AC-Delco part number is 214-5004 and there were 262 car models that used it through 1995 (for a comple list go to http://198.208.187.182/internet/VehiclePartFits.jsp and enter the part number).

As to the schrader valve, the cap is an integral part of the seal and the proper one has an o-ring in the top. The one on our 88 "C" is smaller than on the 90.

Padgett is right.. the LN3 [88-91] got the three solenoid EGR valve. The LG3 [87-early88] had a manual EGR valve.. that I really don't understand how it worked.. but I know it wasn't electronic. The schrader valve is not going to be replaceable on the fuel rail.. I really don't know how you could even break one!

The schrader valve leaked (seeped may be the word for it) after I removed my fuel pressure gauge. Have you ever had a valve stem leak on your tire? I thought it might be replacable.

Thanks

Had the valve on a V-6 Fiero seep slightly after removing the guage. With the proper cap on it didn't.

hahaha!! that's hilarious! GM wasn't all that smart back in the day when they made our cars... There would be several improvements I would make, if I made the cars today.
