Rear shocks...
Just a quick question.. will the air shocks from a 92 Buick H-Body fit my 90 SSE? I seen a good set in the wreckers sunday, and would like to pull them out today... since mine don't like to hold air too well....

Well, I'm hoping that they do work, since I just got back from the wreckers with the shocks... and they just happen to be Monroe Sensatrack shocks. The bladders on them do look good, and hopefully I'll be able to install them next weekend..

I figured that the shocks would work.. since the Buick Park Avenue is a 91, and they were making the Bonnie'* in our body style in 91, and I've heard people say that the 92+ Bonnies are almost the same as ours, with different bodies..
I think I might have found another good score at the wreckers....

shocks
the Bonne shocks will work up the 99 model year. Caddy and Buick shocks are interchangeable in the early 90'* cars also.
Just last week I found a brand new set on a 90 Deville and was quoted $30. Came back this week to get them and they were gone. That hurts...

Well, I spotted the shocks on sunday, along with a strut tower brace (which was loose, so I grabbed it...) and pulled the shocks on monday, now I'm waiting for this weekend to get the shocks installed...
I must say, that strut tower brace makes a wolrd of difference... you don't really notice how much front end flex these cars have untill you put that brace on... You actually can see the front end flex without it... but you don't notice it until it doesn't flex...
Oh, and one more quick question... the shock that I got, I can easily compress them, without air... I'm assuming that this is normal, since they are air shocks.. Am I wrong?

Well, the shocks have been working great, except one of them have developed a clunk when the shock compresses then expands quickly... any ideas what would do that? is there a way to tighten the top of the shock, where the shock connects to the mounting plate or something? I know there is a large nut on the top of the shock itself (its a 15/16" size nut).. is that the nut that I need to tighten?
