89' Bonneville SE- Runs Poor, Especially when I'm on the gas
Hello everuone. New Mbr here. I've been reading about some of the more common problems, that some have experienced.
I'm having aproblem with my car idling, and almost stalling. It'* like it wants to, but has jsut enough to keep going. Then, when I try to give it a little gas, it make matters worst. SO I have to "jiggle" the gas pedal, untiln I can get it where it will react accordingly.
I've been told that my coil pack was bad. I'm thinking that maybe I have a "gunked up IAC". From what I've read here, this could be the case. The car sputters at low rpm'*, and is ready to stall when I'm at a light.
Any help would be appreciated. I just got this car, and I changes the plugs, wires, Put a new fuel pump on it, and did some other minor repairs, but I still can't go for a ride with confidence.
Thanks

its a gunked up IAC, but your coil COULD be weak too, I have the same idle problem on my bonne, but nothing like massaging the gas to get herup to a good rpm.

Fix the code 34 first. A bad/gunked up MAF could cause all of your problems. Have found the occasional MAF in junkyards but are so easy to remove (just need a screwdriver) that are often gone. Need to be real carefull of the two coils as they are very easy to damage.

Update
OSG, I cleaned the IAC, as described here:http://www.6007.us/
I've seen a dramatic increase in performance already. The problem I had before, where the car would stall and sputter, when I hit the gas, has stopped. Now whe still slow to pick up once she gets to about 40mph. I plan on checking the junkyard this week for the MAF and Coil pack.
Thanks again for the help, I'll keep you posted.

Could be MAF
My car will not run at all if the snorkel is removed from the MAF. It will do just as you describe. It is most likely bad. I would get a brand new one if possible. This is a very important sensor for the engine to know how much air is going through. Change it.
