Coolant Flush (HELP)

Coolant Flush (HELP)
Ok, now I am planning on doing a coolant flush, and replacing my hoses and such, (they are leaking) anyways, i did something wrong last year, and that is when my car overheated and i killed the MAF sensor and then you had me rant and rave about that dang engine light...anyways, yeah, i did something wrong, so if someone could please tell me what the proper preceedure would be for a good engine flush, what products should be used for flushing or sorta coolant should be used, and what the cooling system capacity is. Thanks!

To do a proper engine flush you should use a flush T... But you could just drain and refill... Is your radiator nasty?
You could remove the drain plugs on the block to drain the block its self... I usually just cheap out and run water thought the engine untill it comes out clear, same goes for the radiator... The I drain the radiator, and refill with coolant... But you kind of have to do the math... I like to go with roughly a 60 coolant / 40 water .... 3 of the cars parked here have long life coolant...lol
Don't think I was much help for you..

coolant
Prestone makes a long life orange Dexcool and a long life "all makes all models"
which I prefer.
Its a matter of personal preference.
You will have to remove a block drain plug after the flush to get all of it in.

When I flushed my cooling system, I used a Prestone product comprised of citric acid. This is a mild acid solution that they recommend to leave in the system with the thermostat removed for about a week. It worked great. As long as the thermostat is removed, flushing with a hose until it comes out clear does pretty much the same thing as opening the drain plug. Just do it when the engine is cool. And not running.

personally i wouldnt use dex cool in a car that didnt ship with it from the factory, too many problems can creep up with that crap.
go find urself some good green coolant, walmart still sells it. along with autozone.
