Default Trip meter not working

Neither does the other thing (don't know the english word for it, but it'* like the trip meter but does show how many miles the car has run).

Anyway, neither one of these instruments works, and the speedometer is showing less speed then I am actually traveling...

Any thoughts what could be wrong?

No codes (from the engine) I am afraid.

Now my dash looks like this

Me and my girlfriend doing our stuff...

Also, I am having problems with my ABS-system http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/...ic.php?t=64318, so I was smart (so I thought) to piggiback the lightbuld of "check engine" and ABS, problem was, it smelled fryed electrics when I started the engine (I forgot to disable contact for the ABS-light), and now oil, temp and voltage gauge is not working...

I am starting to hate Pontiac as much as I start to hate my self for buing this car.... *banging my head against a wall*

Anyway, forgive me about going on like this, but what is a "VSS"?

Vehicle speed sensor... located in the transmission. It'* like a speedometer cable from the old days, but electronic. If your speedometer doesn't read right and neither the odometer nor trip meter work, then it'* either the VSS or could just be a defective cluster.... there are ways to test the VSS, not sure off hand. But I can check my service manual if you'd like. In all likelihood, it'* probably not worth the effort to go about replacing the VSS, i'm sure they aren't that expensive, but the time involved would be killer [i think?].

If you smoked the wiring for the cluster it'* probably fixable... look at the back circuit paper, and if you see broken traces you can easily grab some wire and either solder them on or carefully supergluing them on. But if you smoked the wiring in the dash, forget it... not worth pulling the dash off [big job... trust me you don't want to].

Oh yeah, sweet house man... love the curtains . I'm waiting for the a-team van to drive through your window looking for you to hem their pants [inside america joke]...
