Fog Lamps on the 87-91'*
My fog lights have never worked on my car, and I would love to have them work. We have had lots of fog since the snow is melting and its been really damp.
I know the bulb type is H3'* but I think I need a whole new fog lamp assembly. I have looked around, albeit, unsuccessful. I have the nice fog lamp kill switch on the map light ceiling mounted console, and it screams to be used.
Anyone know where I can find some and about how much I can expect to spend?
BTW my sig pic clearly shows the lamps....SSE'* have them, but I'm not sure if the LE'* do..any help please!

I want to try and avoid going to the dealer. Someone must know of where we can get them..or where to mount them, there are a few opening beneath the bumper on mine. One for the bottom of the rad and the other 2 for the lights.
Geez...shouldn't be this hard

i couldnt find originals at a reasonable price so i just bout some at walmart (about $15 i think).
i did have working fog lights but one of them was broken. the cheap ones look just like the originals except that the outer cover is plastic as oppsed to rusting metal.
there should be a place to mount them down below the bumper as well as the wiring to run them

When I had my 89, those fog lights were a continuing source of frustration. They must be in a bad location.
I removed the existing mounting brackets from the car, removed the old lights from the mounting brackets, and then mounted aftermarket lights on to those brackets. That way you don't have to get under the car and drill holes. You can do it on your workbench and then mount the older brackets again.
Even the new lamps had corrosion problems, as I replaced those three times in three years.
The other thing you could try is GM parts direct, if you have the part numbers.

if u take out the skrews infront, the lamp comes out(glass and all). that whole piece can be bought at walmart. leave the mounting brackets there, they can be reused. I just removed the old lenses/bulbs bought some at walmart, and put them in the original mounting bracket. They are really "Fog lights" but more of a driving light. back in 88-91, they were orange driving lights.

On an 88 SSE there was 1 fog light on it and it had an orange lens on it-on my 89 they're both clear. I have a set of factory fogs from a newer Z28 Camaro--I was toying w/the idea of putting them on instead. They look like they'll fit w/very minor mods. They're also clear and much skinnier then the stockers.

shortstuf,
Off the top of your head, do you remember which lamps from Walmart fit into the factory housings? From what you said, I'm guessing they don't come in orange (being driving lights).
I'll be at Walmart this weekend I guess, finally get to replace my cracked pair.

Yup...clear lens indeed.
I saw a 89 Bonneville SE on the highway last night, very similar to mine. He had nice aftermarket fog lamps. I just gotta find them, and install them
