Bonnie TOTALED Today
Well today around 12:30pm I was on Route 46 going between 40-45mph. When all of a sudden bam. I got hit, brakes locked up and my car slid into the oncoming lane.
A 60-65 year old woman in her newer Dodge Caravan had for some reason decided to floor her gas right into me. Initial point of impact was front passenger tire. Hit me hard enough where my alloy rim cracked in half. At the point of impact I am watching the oncoming traffic thinking, this is it...I thought for sure I was gona die! Coming right at me was a full size Ford Explorer, I think it would have just ran up on my hood and ended up on top of me.
Thank god ( I am not a religious person) or Thank the driver that they were not on the cell phone or distracted at all because they had very quick reflexes and slam on the brakes and skidded around me.
If anyone would have been in the passenger side of my car I just don't think they would have made it. Hell I don't think I should have made it. I went and cleaned out my car a couple hours ago and talking to the Body repair shop owner, he said at minimum using used parts it would be $4,000 to fix. Bonnie was 14 years old and 3 weeks ago turned the 100k mark. I have already put atleast $1,000 into her within the past year to the point where she was a perfect running and driving car.
I already miss the Bonneville! I guess I should be happy that I am able to sit here and type this right now.
I guess this will be one of the last times in this forum so I would like to say THANK YOU! For all the help everyone has given me in the past!
Here are the pictures, I forgot to take a picture of the inside. My entire dash is cracked and my glove compartment broke in half. Here is what I have at least.
Anyone have any ideas how much her insurance company will pay? Guesstimates are ok too!

Are they 100% sure it'* a write off???
I got hit a while back and they estimated $4000 (Cdn) to repair mine, and they didn't write it off. I hope they can fix her up for you. :(

the most important part is that you are in good condition... no point of having a car if you can't drive it..
although if you get rid of the car would it be possible to get the maf sensor?

I am gonna try and take out the new stuff that I have put in within the past year after the insurance company looks at it. I will have around 3 days to scavenge the non obvious things. The guy at the Body shop where it was towed to suggested I take my cd player out, so I am gonna swap batteries, take out my 9 month old computer and anything else I can yank out of my car.
So I can recoup some money. I have so far found $1,200 worth of receipts from the past 10 months. This car was supposed to last a hell of a lot longer. I will let you know if I can getthe MAF out. I have to find the receipt for that but I believe it is only 8 months old.

Let me add my "Sorry about the car" and "Glad you're okay" to this.
Any word yet on what she was doing when she caused this? I was an accident investigator as part of my MP duties, and I always wonder what was going through peoples heads...

That sucks
But glad to hear that you're OK. Those cars are build really solid, and if anyone had been in the passenger side, they most likly would have been OK too. I agree with everyone else- Take every electronic piece possible. If you gave a list of all the good parts even to the club, you could sell most of the parts.
Any word on what the woman was doing at the time? How does anyone miss one of these cars? they're boats!!!
