Lowering Black Magic
Hey all,
I'm thinking about lowering Black Magic (my 91 SSE) and stiffer springs.
I've been talking to coilsprings.com and they asked what are the PNs for my suspension.
When I checked I noticed that there are two options for suspension parts.
Standard and Heavy Duty. I'm assuming all SSE'* came with the Heavy Duty, but I just wanted to confirm here.
The PNs I found are:
Front 22078101
Rear 10027113
What do you guys suggest for a drop? 1in, 1.5? 2?
BTW, and anyone think of any reason I shouldn't lower the car? other then the possibilty of bottoming out.
Cheers,

I'd personally on my car go 1" drop, but on your'* [being black, and a bit more modified already], go for a full 2". That would just look insane.
No reasons why, the oil and trans pans are below the cradle, so you have a much lower risk of killing those, and it'd just look too sweet to care about the two scrapes a year you'd get.

This is the reply I got from CoilSprings.com
Does that sound about right?
I have the O.E.M. specifications for the front coil spring part number.
2207 8101 supersedes to 2207 8100
The rear coil spring part number you give is for a Buck Le Sabre 87-91.
10027113 discontinued – No specification available.
I have coil spring for designs for your 1991. We have designed coil springs for the Bonneville to both lower the ride height of the vehicle as well as increase the coil spring rate.

Well, I'm not sure what you're doing. Are you just lowering the ELC in the rear and replacing the coil springs up front? Personally I'd go same spring rate, adjustable shocks. But then again i'm more for ride quality than handling performance. Or idk if you can get adjustable shocks for the front struts, and same thing for the rear air struts... hmm there are a many combinations now that I think about it.
