Both back doors won't open from either inside or out
I just want to say first of all I'm new to this board. I got to say its a great forum! I have a 91 SSE Bonneville, I've had this car since I was a junior in high school meaning almost 10 years now. I love the car! This car was great when I first bought it. The problem that I'm having with it is that none of the back doors open from either inside or outside. The passengers side door is now doing the same thing. This is not a good thing. This is leaving only the drivers side door that opens. Any ideas to what possibly could be wrong here! This whats makes the problems worse, none of the windows open. The car keeps blowing the relays under the dash. I have no clue to what could be wrong with the windows. I have since purchased another car, and this one just sits in the garage. The car only has 85k on it. I love this car and plan on keeping it another 50 years. Any help would be greatly appricated.

heh, I belong to the club, somewhat.
There are days where I can open my driver's side rear door. There are days where I can't. |
I was a member of that club, then I got my doors apart enough to open them. I sometimes have issues with the rear doors. Here is the deal, if the doors are locked DO NOT TRY AND OPEN THE DOORS, ( once you get it fixed that is). I notice if I can't open the rear door I just lock the doors again and try to hit the unlock button a couple times and it usually goes. Some times I actually have to "tap" the door with my hand right below the door handle with the doors still locked. You can tell if the button has resistance or not. If not then the mechanism is still stuck, so either the unlock or the "taping" usually works.

also don't close the door locked ;)

My dad just fixed my door. He had to take it apart from the inside and it just needed a good greasing. He said it was so dry in there that the mechanism just stuck. Now it works like a charm (it works better than the other 3 doors).

That's what I need to do for all my doors. They just feel like crap when opening them, and they always sound like they aren't going to open. -justin |
The hardest thing about doing the job is getting the doors open--once you have that done it's easy.

Yep, you are very correct. I was lucky enough to get my panel off with the door closed, and peeled away at the water seal, and lifted up the lock.. It works, but it is not fixed.
