Just got home after being away since the 20th of last month. Mid-line two-year-old 850 CCA Penske/K-Mart battery started right up with no sign of fade. Am running under 20 ma nominal drain. Just a data point for those experiencing battery fade. If it goes dead after a couple of days, something is wrong.

Also returned to find son'* Grand Am had been rearended (he'* fine). Being a '90, we had liability only and though there is no question of fault, the other person'* insurance company (Hartford) said his car is totaled and only worth $900 - aside from poor paint (he parks under a maple tree) the body was straight/rustfree (central Florida) the interior is very nice, the trans replaced a few years ago, and a complete top end rebuild inc. electrics last year so the powertrain is tip-top and the a/c is cold. 145k (miles, not im) on the clock.

Would appreciate opinions on how to proceed - have feeling we are being lowballed but have no recent experience in the area.

Provide data showing similar Grand Ams selling for more money. You are now needing to negotiate a higher price. This is similar to buying a used car.

Kelly Blue book is higher than that isnt it?
