anyone ever have problems with rear c. springs sagging?

the back of my car seems to sag a little bit..and when i hit a bump , sometimes it kinda feels the car jolts sideways..i just replaced the struts in the back....any clue as to why the car is doing that?

Mayhem_3 06-05-2003 05:26 AM

Yeah my 88le seems to sit a bit low in the rear. I've had people ask what the hell do you have in your trunk? Even with the struts brand new it was that way. Nice think I have a trailer package on the back cause it always scrapes when I go into sharp angle driveways and the such.

bonnieboy23 06-05-2003 05:52 AM

is it normal for these cars to do that....i wonder if there is anything we can do to lift the back up

grey3800 06-05-2003 11:30 AM

yea mine always seems to be a little lower than the front, even with new struts installed. mine as well scrapes the when i do starp driveways, but thats partly the fault of my trailer hitch

Ummm...am I the only one that doesn't have this problem

Or is it because I have F41 suspension? :?

Damemorder 06-05-2003 11:48 AM

I've got F41 susp. too, but my rear-end is 2" lower than my front
i thought it was a little off, I've hit the exhaust tip on quite a few things, the most envigorating being when i put the muffler under the rear pass. door, that was fubn

Damemorder 06-05-2003 12:26 PM

see my muffler under my door? i didnt tell many people about that one.... took no pics
see the car sitting low in back? wait til i take a pic with my lame PDA cam

I always thought that the back of the car will sag when the springs wear out or become compressed with age.

bonnieboy23 06-05-2003 02:39 PM

i went to canadian tire today...yay..they gave me a 200 dollar credit in store for them alternators i kept burnin...i bought some coil spring adjusters for the rear springs...it lifted the car about 2 inches in the back..and the ride is like 98 percent better..its a sporty ride..before it was really floaty and bouncy...so i solved that problem..if u guys go out and buy the kits..make sure u get the three inch bolt tensioners..cause they wont be long nuff to reach the other bracket...*(save yourself an hour drive)

suprrbonne 06-05-2003 11:32 PM

my 89 se does the same thing, but ive got speakers an amp spare-tire yada yada....lol other than that mine sits low neways as u can see from the pics.....doesnt bother me much except it bounces a little, but it doesnt bother me
