Shift Lock Problems

Shift Lock Problems
I have a question about the shift lock on my 1991 Bonneville SSE. It has been sticking quite a bit, what I mean is that the button will stick and now come out unless forced. I did spray some lube but it still does the same..
My question is once I shift into park and shut the car off, I go to start the car up again and it will not start. I shift into D then back to P and it will start.. All the time when I try to start the car it will stall and then finally start up seeming like the battery is to low to crack the starter.. I installed a used fully charged battery today and it still does the same thing. I did a test on the battery I removed and it passed.. I did a test on the battery, starter & alternator and they all passed.. Does anyone know is it because the shift lock is always sticking makes my car have problems starting..? Can anyone help me out here!
Thanks!

Sounds like the Park Neutral Safety Switch...
Power to the starter solenoid is routed through the park neutral safety switch... In Park or Neutral there should be a 12v+ supplied to the Solenoid when you hold down the ignition switch... If there is power going to the switch when you hold the key down( start position ) but none going to the starter solenoid, then you may have found the issue... I forget what the wire colors should be tho..
