Default Aftermarket Ignition Control Module; 1989 Olds Delta 88; 3800 Vin C

1989 Olds Delta 88; 3800 Vin C 202K

Original GM Ignition Control Module melted- green goo at lower third of ignition module (below the coil pack for the 4 & 1 Cylinder).

Need to know if people have had success with aftermarket ignition control modules for this vehicle application vs OEM ACDelco - ignition module part D1992A? My OEM has a plastic sheath over the ignition module insulation matter (resin?)

I can obtain a BWD ignition control module. This module does not have a plastic sheath and the insulation matter is black.

I have already purchased but not yet installed a new ACDelco coil pack part number D552.

I read recommendions on using Dielectric grease but what should it placed upon; the six electrical connections between the Ignition control module and the coil pack?

Thank you for your input and suggestions. This site has been very helpful.

Jim

Dielectric grease is for electrical connections.
