Loud Pop in the dash when outside temperature is cool.
Hi everyone,
The weather is cooler now and every time I start the car in the morning, I hear a pretty loud pop under the dash, does anyone know how I might fix this. I believe it has something to do with the vent doors that are located under the dash.
Thanks

Don't know if its that noise in the video, (i didn't watch it, computer has dial up, and not rigged for sound), but i sometimes get a noise that sounds like a flutter. Or rather, a gurgling noise when i turn the HVAC off or do something. Its just a random noise. Never bothered me, but just curious what it is. lol.

If its that tapping/rattling sound your talking about, I think it has to do with the brakes/abs system charging and rattling the brake pedal... I get that quite often, cool or not....

i noticed my 89 doing it a couple of times when it was still my aunts and had borrowed the car from her. she said it had started doing it when the a/c tanked a couple years ago and that her dealer said not to worry about it it was something with the climate control system.
when i got the car from her last winter i played around with it a bit and it did seem to be when the system switched from defrost to heat to vent etc. since i wasn't spending a grand to redo the a/c system, i figured if the rest of it works...don't worry about it! a year later my "pop" is still "popping" but the climate control system still works fine. someone with more mechanical ability may be able to explain how to fix it...my suggestion is just turn the stereo up louder!
