ABS ALDL access?
Hi,
can anyone help me out with a hint on where to access the ALDL connector?! I need to troubleshoot my ABS b/c the amber ABS signal is constantly on. So I wantet to short the A and H pins on the ALDL thing, but the manual does not say where the connector is located. :( Help :!: |
On the '90 it points down directly under the steering column. On the 88 the Teves is pins A-G for the ABS. 89-Later use A-H.

Thanks alot, that helped
I only got a "32" code which translates into the right front wheel speed sensor, according to my manual. So I guess that iis dead. Does anybody have a spare one for me? Thanks! |
Good luck. All four of mine are shot from a nice run to 100.. and they aren't cheap. Best bet is to just remove the bulb and use your foot for ABS ;).

I still hope I can get one from a wrecked Bonnie... |
*cough* *cough*
whew, it sure is dusty in here. does gmpartsdirect have one? |
You can, but it is risky, and the yard owners usually know their value. Retail [or whatever the fuck gmpd is] is NOT going to be affordable.

Not sure about how much the sensors are but I had to have one of the axles changed since the ring that the sensor uses to see the wheel speed was cracked. A new axle with teh ABS ring on it was about 100$ CAD.

That's not the sensor though, I do not believe. That is the part that talks to the sensor. The sensor is in no way permanently connected to the axle.
rjolly: give him a deal! lol I also forgot to answer, that yes a run to 100mph with a car this old that had not gone past 75mph in a long time killed all four of my WSS. And you know what? It was worth it. Remember, mph and kph are completely different, so you won't reach that speed on highways [unless you live near the Autobahn]. Not to mention it will make EVERY drivetrain problem every bit more obvious on those runs [IE: Suspension problems.. i just about pissed myself because my car was floating I really didn't have much control over my car. Never again would I do this until my front suspension had a whole makeover]. -justin |
