Default 89 SE inop pwr mirrors, dr locks, tail lights, brake lights,

New to the BB, I see a lot of good info here.
I need some help diagnosing/fixing this: dash lights out, interior lights out, tail lights out, brake lights out, pwr mirrors out, pwr door locks out, 4-way flashers out. Headlights work, backup lights work. Tested all bulbs/fuses - ok. Headlight, tail light indicators on inst. panel on.
Any ideas? I heard it could be the turn signal switch in the steering column and if so is it a BIG job? I am used to doing all my own work and have done some pretty involved repairs on my cars.

This just started happening after the front, passenger side, side indicator light was smashed(bulb in it works ok) and a Power steering problem fixed.

Any help appreciated.

Looks like one or more fusable links are bad or not getting a good connection. Check those first.

They are located in the engine compartment, along the firewall, in the middle. There should be a plastic cover that goes from the passenger'* side to almost the master cylinder. When you remeve the cover you'll be able to see the fusable links. According to my diagram, there are 5 links but this diagram is for a 90. Yours should be the same though.
