I'm NA and run 180* year round....in Florida. No negative effects I can tell of at all. Positive effects, yes. No codes.

Yep...not good for winter. People on the boards will start dropping to 180'* and drilled 180'* when they have a modified engine that needs to be cooled quicker. Even stock supercharged Bonneville'* will be just fine with the 195.

when i Put the 180 in my NA i noticed that when that motor is fully warmed up i dont feel the heat lag anymore.. you kow how when a motor gets hot it feels more laggy.. no mine doesn't do that.

actually a few people here do the switch for the seasons. not a bad idea, just a matter if you want the hassle.

I am not sure how hard it would be to do on the L36, but it sure is easy on an LN3. But I DO KNOW that you are heading in the right direction with that because that would most likely prevent premature UIM failure.

really? because I was running a 180 for a long time and noticed no difference, so when i switched back to a 195 for last winter, I left it there and really have not noticed TOO much. But yeah, I do know what you mean by heat lag. I wonder..has anyone ever tested to see if the performance numbers are different IN AN N/A engine whether it has a 195 or 180 at full operating temp? Someone should run some tests.
