broken AC button
It was hot the other day, so I poked the "Auto" button on my climate control panel. I didn't think I poked it very hard, but my finger went through the center of it. The whole yellow rectangle around the word "AUTO" pushed in.
It doesn't affect the function of the AC, it just looks bad.
Has anyone else seen this?
Would this be a difficult fix?
Whole unit or separate button?
I advise anyone else with this style of switch to press with the fingerprint portion of the finger instead of poking it with the finger tip. And don't push directly on the word AUTO. Apparently I found the weak spot.

button
When my serpentine belt came off and took out the crank sensor the car died on the road. While coasting I hit the off button hard in disgust and the same thing happend.
I got a tiny jewelers screwdriver and popped it out and super glued it. Suppose I should change it but it has been holding up well and doesn't look too bad.

Easy change indeed- This is a very common problem. All the buttons on the ECC will do this eventually. 1995 buttons have the same writing, but they are made of solid plastic verses the vinyl coating that they originally came with on the 88-93 versions. 1996 and up- the auto button looks different. Easy change too I can send you a pic of mine.
The only button that I didn't change was the EXT temp button- My buttons came from the 98 SLE that my interior came from. The auto button is different, not a big deal though.
