make sure you jack up the car on plywood if on grass or on concrete.. mine fell over on the jack and two jack stands.. the one jack stand was crushed, and so is my oil pan. So just use extreme caution with that.
Oh yeah now that he bad new is out of the way. When I cleaned out my intake [all the way up to intake plenum] and the IAC, the car purred like a kitten, and roared like a tiger.. she was a whole new car after that, and I had about 5 shop towels covered in carbon..
There is a wealth of information here at BC, if you search around a little [tech info and forum archives] you will be surrounded by a wealth of information.. and the people here are all great. If I ever have a problem [most of the time I do] I can come here and quite promptly I will get a great, intelligent answer, helping me beyond the norm. njoy, you picked the right car to buy, and the right forum to be a member at.

Ya, what Justin said. If I'd known about this site a few years ago, the amount of money I could have saved is mind boggling. Instead I took it into an expensive (more so than usual) mechanic for most of the work. Its also nice to know that if anything else goes wrong, or if I want to make it go faster (and of course I do), someone here can help.

mine has 148xxx actual miles, and the new gauge cluster I just received today thinks I have 186 or 189xxx miles [its really dirty so I can't read it all that good], although with the working trip, and the working DIC, and soon to be working compass.. I could care less about the miles it says.. even though I know how to change it back.. it'* fairly simple.. so it would probably only take me a minute or two to get it all setup, I think I may just use it as an excuse so my insurance provider doesn't know I drive the car
Does your DIC and Compass work? If not, randy [randman1] and I are trying to figure this out ourselves.. so yeah, I think both of us will be sure to keep everyone informed on this.. once we get all this shiznit figured out.

if you are interested.. I am recruiting those to gather knowledge of the electrical system.. and we need a few people to help us out.. i've got one probably with a working DIC+ Compass.. you will need to remove some stuff off the dash.. but the car would still be semi drivable.. I don't see why you couldn't..
oh yeah the thread is here

Code 41, does a search in this forum for it, seems to plague the LN3 powered Bonnevilles, (88-91)
The cam sprocket and timing chain issue, throws an SES light and causes the car to spudder at acceleration.
