Soo I am finally getting around to posting the thread I said I would a while ago about all of the updates I've done to the monte. Well I'm just making a mod thread so anytime I put a new mod on I can just post it on here to make everything easier to find. I'm gonna be starting from the beginning so there will be lots of pics for y'all to look at & y'all will know almost everything I have done to the monte when we got it 3 years ago. Soo yeahh enjoy & any comments are welcomed

BTW it may take me a bit to get this thread done...so far I have about 59 mods done...

This is back when she was 100% stock...kinda weird to see these pics but she looked gorgeous back then too =) my dream monte


Rear stock view


Starting with the first mod...1st was a K&N air filter but the first real mod was red pin striping borderlining the black body against the silver body kit. Done at the end of July 2009



Third mod: Red calipers done the day before I left for Pensacola which was August 7, 2009


Fourth: License plate filler put on October 10, 2009



Fifth: Funny driver mirror phrase put on December 9, 2009


Sixth, Seventh, & Eighth: Silver Monte Carlo trunk badge, Intimidator trunk badge, & Dale Earnhardt Dealership license plate frame. Done on December 9, 2009


Ninth: Dale Earnhardt Dealership badges. Done on December 9, 2009


10th: tinted windows + windshield tint visor...30% driver & passenger doors, 15% back 3 windows & tint visor. Done on December 14, 2010


11th: Repainted supercharger cover finally done in April 2010


12th: GM Performance Division badge put on */c cover in April 2010


13th: 3.8L L67 fender badge put underneath the engine bay in April 2010



14th: Diagonal bars in engine bay painted galaxy silver in April 2010


15th: Hand-painted door sills finished in April 2010



16th: Dale Earnhardt signature decal for license plate filler. First one put on April 13, 2010


17th: Legacy pillar decals put on April 13, 2010



18th: Painted over steering wheel control buttons on April 13, 2010


19th: Fixed rust/painted rotors on April 15, 2010


20th: Replaced front bumper Knight emblem on April 28, 2010

21st: Mini convex mirrors on the side mirrors..prob the best 3 dollars I have ever spent! The monte has some killer blind spots


22nd: Intimidator windhshield banner on April 29, 2010


23rd: New statically balanced Firestone Affinity tires put on June 15, 2010


24th: Custom black vinyl lugnut covers with red bowtie center cap overlay made in early August 2010


25th: MonteCarloForum.com side window decals put on August 6, 2010


26th: L67 Supercharged 3.8L oil cap put on August 8, 2010 (sorry reallyyy crappy pic)



27th: Custom matte black vinyl eyelids made on August 20, 2010


28th: Mufflers and tailpipes painted matte black on September 3, 2010


29th: Plastic piece between headlights painted gloss black on September 9, 2010 (actually I'm redoing it soon bcuz I had virtually no clear coat left to spray on it once the black died)


30th: Black painted reverse light screws done on September 17, 2010


31st: Personalized license plate arrives in early October 2010


32nd: Painted & installed front & rear STBs with custom mounting brackets. Put on November 4, 2010


33rd: Painted & installed front & rear STBs with custom mounting brackets. Put on November 4, 2010


34th: Legacy headrests out of a 2004 Intimidator SS bought on November 15, 2010


35th: Roof rails finally painted & installed on March 19, 2011


36th: "New" tailight installed on March 19, 2011


37th: REM3MBER spoiler decal put on March 19, 2011


38th: License plate filler repainted & waiting for the new decal to arrive. Got it back on March 19, 2011


39th: New custom vinyl eyelids made for the head lights on March 19, 2011


40th:Freshly painted hoodliner (it'* black even though it does not really look like it in the pic

41st: "Brittany" bright dark pink decal at bottom of windshield


42nd: "VROOM VROOM" metallic silver decal on back windshield (I didn't realize that the font I chose resembled the NASCAR font until I got it lol)


43rd: new Dale Earnhardt signature decal for newly painted filler


44th: STB quote decal seen on tributes to Dale Senior...I'm changing it soon though to say something else


45th: new Monte Carlo Forum quarter window decals..I still have the GMForum ones but I haven't decided where to put them yet.


46th: freshly spray matte-black spray painted radio control buttons until i can figure out how to get the real buttons in


47th: temporarily touched up the door frames on the sides since they are peeling and look horrible for shows! I plan on taking them off soon to completely repaint them to match the paint on the car...that way it wont have the weird look to them anymore either---the pic really doesn't do the job justice lol


48th: finally installed the new steering wheel radio control buttons during the Ranken Car Show in April 2011


49th: exact black color match painted fiberglass under the piece between the headlights (done on May 6, 2011)


50th: exact black color match painted windshield wiper arms (done on May 6, 2011)


51st: exact black color match painted door frames 9done on May 6, 2011)


Not officially counting this as a mod yet: fixed rust on the door tracks (going to take the seats out someday & completely repaint the tracks and guards--done on May 12, 2011)


52nd: Blacked out 3rd brake light (mod is not fully done yet) done on June 23, 2011. Thanks to Mike I got it. Now a very good pic of it but that'* the best I have atm


53rd: Custom hand painted hoodliner graphic. Finally finished at the beginning of July 2011. Once again, not the best pic of it. I gotta do a photoshoot soon after my next 2 mods are done in the next month


54th: Black painted lugnuts (buh bye black vinyl overlays lol). Done on July 8, 2011


55th: LED converted interior lighting. Done in July 2011



56th: LED license plate light

(don't have pic yet) 57th: LED reverse lights

Done in July 2011


58th: Red LED grille light (finally!!!! been wanting this sucker for well over a year!!!)

not a very good pic of it...my camera doesn't take good pics of it at night, I've tried several times. Done in mid-July 2011

59th: C-headlight LEDs...gotta get better pics of em soon. I've been wanting them for a while now but I still don't know how I feel about them now that they are actually on =/ They were done this past weekend

This mod I'm really on the fence about the more & more think about it...I think it messes up what I have going with the eyelids. I had to cut the f'ing seal to put them on so now I gotta figure out what I'm going to do if I decide to move them to a diff location (which I probably will)

is the SC3.8L in you MC the same as the SC3.8L in the Bonny or is it also modified (by GM)?

Looks great. Love the red lights in the grill. Almost like its a newer KITT. But uhh whats with the pink name

They are all pretty much the same L67. Minor differences such as dipstick and oil pan between body types.

Your car is awesome! The only thing I would change is the placement of the leds in the headlights. Maybe if they were on the bottom of the lights instead of the "C" shape? What LEDs did you use for it? I was thinking about doing something similar with my car

do them under the headlights to show off their unique shape
