Some engine detailing this last weekend....
Have the lights hooked up to another toggle on my dash. Took it for a 200 mile trip yesterday and no problems with function.

They are some LED'* at autozone. The little package said they were safe to put in the engine, wheel wells, and underneath the car. The paint is a basic engine paint.

Really nice. How did you get the power up there for the LED'*? That is one thing I miss form my 95 Bonneville, the light under the hood. The 2004 does not have a light! I bet Pontiac saved a whole $2.50 by not wiring up that option.
Can’t wait for the 2004 service manual to come out so I can start to do some lighting mods to the car.

My 97 does not have a light up there either. I had to share the ground and power for each wire then run it down the side to a accessory fuse which I have installed a toggle in my dash to turn it on and off at my disposal. The wires are contained in a red wire loom.

Im done with the lighting mods for now. The only other thing I am considering is something in my trunk that might look pretty cool. I have some time at the end of this month to work on it.
