Default installed MPS today

My new intense MPS came in today. Got right on installing it,had a little problem. Let me explain.

First thing I needed to do was get the old one off. This was easy.

However, ran in to a little problem. I had installed a oversize tension pulley a while back. Well, that large pulley, and the new smaller pulley with a stock sized belt got a little close.

Ok, a LOT close. It was rubbing.

So I pulled the oversized one and put the stock on back.

No more rubbing, but, a loose belt, and it slipped.

So I had to run out and get a 715 belt. No more slipping now.

Here'* the finished product.

Ya, actually a few derees. I had nothing at all with a 3.4 didn't think it would jump that much. Guess I better look at other ways of dropping it a bit. Any ideas? other then going back to 3.4, which I might do. I'm planning to upgrade my coils to MSD, dont think that will do much. I'm also thinking the new tighter belt made a difference because it'* not slipping.

putting the 3.4 back on is a MUST, not a might.

The weather has been getting better around here, and the temps are rising. Probably one of the biggest reasons you are seeing the increase.

That'* my thought as well. Guess I'll be ordering a new 3.4 pulley. I'll have to get a good scan as soon as I get autoenginuity upgraded to the enhanced GM codes.

Keep an eye on your timing advance, too. Rogue asked me about mine, and said that if it is much below 18 at WOT, then you should back off the pulley size. Mine goes down to about 15* at WOT, but since I have 0* KR to go with that, I've decided to keep the 3.4 I have on there. If you're getting KR, though, your timing is probably very low, as well, and you should throw the 3.4 back on until you can get a better tune on it.

I'm planning to stay off the gas till I get a new 3.4" I'm not pulling my MPS to put a press on back on. I'll also get a much better scan as soon as my software upgrade arrives.

Huh! Never had a chance to look at stock timing tables...that'* about the absolute lowest I get at WOT...I have my annunciator set up to go off if the timing drops below 14.8* and it never goes off once I reach WOT from a stop...only time I ever get a light is between 1/2 throttle and near WOT, or if I stab WOT.

what about a ported LIM? will that be enough to allow you to run the 3.3 with 0 KR?
