Well, I did test and change everything but the radiator cap. Well, and the knock module in the PCM. And that'* only because I have no clue how to test it, and I can't find one for sale anywhere. I can find a lot of PCMs, but none include the KM.

It has a tps plug. You just didn't recognize the round one instead of the flat one. I ran it with a N* and when local didn't have an adapter, I gave him mine and changed the connector on the harness. Afterall, which is cleaner looking an adapter or a connector that appears original? Same with the alternator, running a newer alternator for the Gen V, cause the 97-99 one was in the way of the IC/bigger cased blower. Even tossed the L32 maps in the box.
I'm interested in this potential fix of reducing the decay rate etc. Because something in my head is having trouble wrapping itself around how false Kr that pulls timing to save a motor from predetonation (or fake detonation) would cause bad piston rod bearings.

I'm telling you, I think that rod bearing went out because the oil pump didn't prime right. This new engine I used a mechanical press tester and it took a lot of cranking until the pressure went up.
I also didn't turn the sensors off in that area, just turned them down. Been talking to a few that have seen similar problems. Some have swapped out other knock modules from different engines that are a bit less sensitive, one added resistors to the knock sensors to do that, I just used software to do it. I've been watching my oil, and it'* clean.

She still cleans up real nice Dan. Glad you have i back on the road. I've had mine on the road 3 times since the tarp came off. I've detailed the inside but yet to claybar/wax it. Too many summer toys. hehehe.

I got the 2 front fenders with the polisher yesterday. A lot of small scratches from all the work. Cleaned them up OK. Need to polish the rest of the car yet.
