well, i went through with my Gen 3 swap on my buick.

following wren'* recipe, the coating turned out pretty good.

Flow matched injectors. 0% spread, yeah baby! thank you Spud @ FIE, and Jimmy Floyd both. i wouldn't have had 0% spread without JF'* injector pool.


i smudged the coating a little before it fully cured :(




and i will have to wait for the sun to move to get some better pics, but hey




this was fairly painless. i had a problem with it running lean bc of the tb having no screen. looking at Bill'* chart in his tb thread, i realized that the 94-95 L67 TB ID is very close to a L36 TB. so i tried it, and the screens interchange very well. i was suprised at how much of a difference that screen will make. A piece of advise for most of us here, is to NEVER remove that screen.

Did you bypass your AC? I notice some different belt routing. And is your wiring harness original? The harness branch that goes to the MAF/IAC/TPS/EGR comes from over the TB, not out of the injector harness.

yup, ac is gone. and the harness is mostly original. the tb sensors are in the same path as the injectors. im not sure what you mean by over the tb? the only thing modified from stock is the addition of the digital egr, and bcs plugs to the firewall.

I meant to say my TB wiring comes from the rear injector harness and goes right over where the TB mates to the SC.

Do you use AC in Michigan? I like seeing that you've kept your engine bay and all its innards clean since the swap. The yellow plug wires look great in all that black. It'* like a giant hornet. Now, if only the supercharger made a buzzing sound... My favorite picture is 100_2341.jpg because of how well the clean and shiny metal nuts stick out against the black supercharger. Well done overall!

ok i gotcha now. but this is the oe L27 harness, slightly modified. so that must be the difference.

i would use ac, if it had worked. our summers still get hot. but the few years before the swap, the ac didnt work, so i know i can deal with it. and replacement costs is rather expensive too.

those stainless allen heads were actually an idea i got from haro. i like them too. thanks Rad.

Where exactly did you get those Allen heads? Are they Grade 8?

My */C is gonna come back off again sometime this summer for painting, and I'd love to get some of those.
My own paintjob is gonna have one little cosmetic touch though...I'm gonna polish the rotor plate to really nice shine...

Grade 8 isn't necessary for the SC bolts. 316 Stainless is what I use.

Polishing the rotor plate is spooooooky business when you consider the risk of abrasives getting in the bearings. Not worth it IMO.
