well found out today that the truck was stolen, :? and talked to a lawyer...seems that due to NC laws, if the truck is reported before the accident, then the company'* insurance is not liable. :( so with the drunkass fleeing, not knowing his identity, truck stolen from company'* lot, my hopes of benifiting from this is dwindling...
i'll keep'ya updated...

Some people these days..
i hope they find out who the guy is, and..well.. the rest is history. we all know what is going to happen
as i and everyone else have said, the Bonneville is a VERY good strong car.. Of all the accidents that've occured on this club, I dont think there has been ANY fatalities.

Sorry I haven't posted anything lately, not much to tell.
OK, well here is the latest update.
First off, I'm just fine. Went to Cyropractor for 1 1/2 months and he straightened out my neck pains.
The insurance company that covered the truck (GMAC) has denied any claims since the truck was reported stolen. Due to NC laws, they can do that. And I've heard that it'* that way in most states. And they never caught the a$$hole that fled. I'm pretty sure the ***** worked for the company, but I can't prove it. I even did a photo line-up with the police but could not make a positive ID.
It took GMAC a month before they sent the official denial letter to my insurance company. And only after I finally talked to the rep'* manager because she never returned my calls, my agent'* calls and my claims dept.'* calls. She said that it was because they had to 'investigate it'. Funny that her 'investigation' ended about an hour after I called her manager.
This makes it fall under the Uninsured Motorist coverage on my car. My Medpay part is paying the Dr. Bills. Then they came to my house to inspect my car (well whats left of it) agreed that it'* totaled, and their 1st offering was around $4700. I had to send in my receipt for the window tint I had done and they added $250. I told them I had to have more because that car WAS in excellent condition and I would probably have to travel somewhere to find a replacement vehicle in similar condition. She told me that if I found at least 3 similar vehicles in my local area (250 mile radius) that they would meet that price. I have not found any in 'my area' in similar condition. I have searched all local car lots, CarMax, E-bay, Craig'* List, and there is nothing. Only place I have found anything close is in Auto Trader but none near the mileage I had (162000) Most there has much less mileage.
So, I'm kinda inbetween a rock and a hard place with getting what I want. I want $5500 and I keep the car. (I have a project waiting for the motor and tranny which were unharmed.) And most likely I will have to travel to get another car. I want a car that was in at least as good of condition as what I had plus the travel expenses to go get it. We'll see what happens. Sad I have to argue with my own ins. co.
It'* really depressing seeing it in my driveway every day.
I did take a real good look underneath and was surprised at what I saw. The trunk floor is crumpled in several places and the entire rear suspension has been pushed forward by at least 4 inches. The rear crossmember framing has been pushed into the gas tank and the tank is buckled! I cannot turn either rear tire as they are pressed into the front of the wheelwells. Both rear doors are jammed shut. Although the rear windows still roll down. I did have a Maglite flashlite in the corner of the trunk, and managed to wiggle it out from where the sheetmetal split from the floor. It survived without a scratch! and works just fine. I have the 2 volume set of factory service manuals still in the shipping box that was in the trunk and it is pressed between the rear panel (where the inflator switch and trunk latch is) and the trunk floor. I can feel the box but can't move it. that may be another $100 lost. Can't remove the spare tire cover yet.
The air compressor casing is broken so not salvagable. Rear bumper shocks are almost vertical. Power antenna still works, but extends somewhere inside the fender only. Can't even tell where the Jack is at in the sheetmetal.
I'll try to get some pics of this when the weather clears. Been raining for days now.
Most of the rear window is still setting in the gutter on the side of the road where it got hit. It'* right at the top of the little hill, so the rain has not been enough to wash it away any.
Oh well, got to get to bed. I will post pics when I get them loaded.
Terry.
