Nice, but why'd you wax it all of a sudden...... That''* not good for it! I'd get into it but I don't want to...

Hey nice car! Looks just like mine...LOL

I think the Crimson Tintcoat is the best color by far. And yes, I waxed mine too!
Did you check the build date? Mine was only 9 days old when I took it home.

Hope you enjoy it as much as I do mine!

The reason you're not supposed to wax for about 3000 miles, has to do with the paint'* curing. It has to be broken in, just like your engine

Either of you guys have bad rail dust, or scratches/swirls from dealer cleaning?

I work at a dealer and your nuts if you think I will let them wash my car. I took it home after it was inspected by my favorite tech and I cleaned it myself. There was no rail dust (happens very rarely) but there were suction cup marks on the hood which waxed off easy. If you find a car at a dealer before it is prepped and you want it, make sure your salesperson understands you don't want it washed by a bunch of min wage car wash kids. Most dealers have a quick prep for sale wash bay (stay away from) but they also have a detail center with trained professionals that make removing swirls and rail dust easy.
Always inspect your car throughly for transportation damage! Including scrapes on bottom of tail pipes and front fascia. The dealer will be paid by GM to have it repaired (don't let them act like the dealer has to pay for it)

5.3Avalanche:
I like the color and the car. You were wise not to let the dealer prep the car. I told my dealer not to touch it at all and they didn’t. At first the dealer did not understand but when I brought the car back to the dealership the following week he understood what I was talking about. I already had 5 coats of Zaino on the car and it sure did look great.

When I washed the car for the first time I could see where some nimrod had taken their finger and made a 3 inch * mark on the hood. It came right out with a little dab of Einszett MP then 2 coats of Zaino Z5.

With old paints you might have to wait to wax or polish but with today’* water based paints you can protect the finish the same day you pick up the car.

What brand of wax did you use?

Thanks for the compliments everyone. Anyway, I tried out that new High Gloss Wax by Turtle Wax. It works pretty darn good. It rained the past few days and really holds up nicely.

I have read a few nice reviews about the new TW on the detail forums that I visit.. I have not heard anything bad about the product. It looks great on your GXP.
