No (well, less) regrets!
I bought this car 4 years ago Saturday, it got me through college as it was a big, reliable car, exactly what I needed. More and more things are needing attention, becoming issues, wearing out, etc.. and Thursday I'm taking delivery on my '06 DSG GTI,
And thanks to my father, I will be missing the Bonne even less!
My Car...The 1 year old front fender, still doesn't have spider webs yet, and plenty of orange peel, but the metal mounts are definetly bowed in.
His Car...
The Sol'* fender is metal, the bumper is plastic. Good thing it'* not a unibody car..
After some compounds, and the guy @ Crystal Lake Automotive spending 5-10 minutes with a few body spoons and forks (for free I might add) the door doesn't rub on the lower fender trim panel anymore.
Car is being traded in thursday for $1k, big question now, is do I tell them? The trade in value based on KBB is for a car in excellent condition, which I didn't consider it to be in before this mishap. This age and/or mileage, It'* going straight to a wholesaler/auction anyways.
My dad is going to get a bottle of touch-up paint for the fender tomorrow since the only one his dealer could locate is near his office.

I wouldn't tell them either. If you do, they will just use that to try to give you less for the car. Even then, THEY would not tell the next buyer about that anyways
All they need to know is what they see and feel when they look at and drive the car

Dont say anything....and if they say something be like "that was there". I've been in the same position before, they appraised my explorer at $3,000 went 4 days later to trade it in and it had "some extra damage" that wasnt there before. I hit a steel cable that was across a driveway and it jacked up a bunch of stuff. Did I tell them? No i didnt. Did they notice, yes they did but I lied and said "what are u talking about? That'* been there for 2 yrs lol" they bought it and off I drove with my sebring.

Yup, don't let the door hit you in the ***! J/K
I love the new GTIs, my dad'* friend has a 6 speed one and it'* chipped, I'm not too impressed with the 6 speed, I have been told that the DSG outruns the 5 speed by almost a half second. Plus the DSG is just a totally amazing transmission.

My twin'* leaving . I even saw your for sale thread and tried to get my parents to buy it for me, I even had a plan to get it down here. My aunt in SD was gonna pick it up for me and my uncle drive it down when he goes up next week, but my parents wouldn't loan me the cash for this one like they did my car .
But congrats on the V-Dub, they're pretty cool cars!

Aww, thats unfortunate. I was actually currently working on coming up with the money, but I guess its in your best interest to just trade it in. Ohh well, good luck with the new car. :\
