Umm the 6L80E is an automatic. That would defeat the purpose of why I looked exclusively for a manual Fiero

Oh, forgot to insert sarcasm. Even the 6L80-E has a hard time fitting in a *-10.

Freaking clutch ain't right, either needs bled badly or a new pedal assembly (heard the aluminum ones bend)

the problem with the 3800 and sc3800 is the torque will quickly destroy the manual, especially the weak ones they put in fieros. they only had around 140 hp or less if the 4 cyl. the lz engines have more power, but its not so instant like the l67, more like highway power, if i was gong to be keeping the fiero trans it would be my choice. if you find the rare 3.9/g40 g6 its all already to go just have to figure the mounts. as far as mileage you are contradicting the l67 gets like 20, the lze in my monte gets 30-32 local, 35-36hwy

Nope, been driving stick less than 2 years. I can't get the damn shifter to find a gear without getting absolutely frustrated with it though. The Lancer it was pretty cut and dry, the shifter practically fell into each gear.

I never mentioned mileage on the lze -.- I was referring to the V8s. I don't want a turbo. I want a roots. End. of. story. As for the manual holding up, I'm dropping in one rated for over 500 each of HP and ft-lbs. Think I'm good.

Also you're doing something wrong getting only 20 with the L67

Or maybe doing something right = ). I average 20mpg but I'm also far from stock and like to run 75-80 on the highway.

I understand all of the benefits of the Turbo and that its delay can be beneficial, but there is nothing comparable to the instant pickup of a supercharger. Stick with it! I'm definitely going to be following this project.

Easy to float. Let go of the gas and pull it out of gear at the same time, gently pull into the next gear. You'll feel the gears grind a little then they slip right in. It takes practice. Once you get the hang of float upshifting, you can practice doing it downshifting. But that take getting use to the throttle because you have to goose it a little, then push it into the next lower gear. Us "big truck" guys do it all the time. It saves on the knee.
