Damn....that'* a good idea. Gonna be a tight squeeze getting a changer in there, though.

Uh thats a good idea but I havent accually seen a cd changer small enough to fit in there it isnt really that big. My friend mounted his in the hole going into the trunk with a custom cut sheet metal insert . you can close the door and armrest so noone can see. If I had a dig cam I would take a pic . I like your idea but I dont think its probobal sorry just my opinion

How big are those little MP3 portable hard drives? Probably not feasible to do but my buddies cousin has an MP3 computer in his car. I'd like to see it. Frankly I'd go totally wacky and put a whole martini bar dealy to serve in the back. Anyone seen those pictures of the new Mercedes limo that is all decked out, with TV,* and recliner back seats and center console pull out bar action..

LOL, I'd to that but...I'm nutz

Well I took a look at the dimensions and technically it'* possible to do, however you're right it would be a squeeze. What I had just considered was just leaving the old arm rest on there (but just screw it down). That way not only will I maintain the look of the original area, but i will also have a deeper area to work with. The MP3 idea isn't bad at all. I'll look into some other possible alternatives before I commit myself to anything.

Yeah Id go with a hard drive there for a mp3 audio powered dash unit. I am looking to get one of these but they are rather expensive. they are a bit smaller then a cd changer and would prolly fit in the glove box center console.

I like the idea of a CD changer close at hand- mine has only the tape cassette, though the previous owner had wired it for a changer in the trunk. He left all the wires inplace but i am one of those guys who likes to change CD'* alot, so i don't like the trunk option.

Like the other guys said though, i think it'd be tough to squeeze one in that spot, and you'de have to make sure there was enough air around it for heat dissipation. Lastly, do you ever use that spot as an actual armrest??

Good luck, love to see how it turns out if you do it.

Chris,

If you look in the bottom of that storage area you will find another "door" that opens up into the air/heat duct for the back seat. Removing this door may give you your desired depth. Just an
