That looks great Silver
Whats on the snout of your supercharger? looks like a temperature strip?
Yes it'* a temperature strip. I have one on all vital components to monitor.

I did end up putting a border on it. Pics to come.

Sure it would keep it cooler with it off all together, but since it'* parking in my shop with the hood open all the time whenever parked, I get to look at the engine compartment and like the eye candy. It'* definitely unique.

Just wondering, will having an open cover like that prevent proper warm up in the winter?
I wouldn't know. It doesn't get that cold around here.
For the last couple of years I have been running without any cover at all and with no problems.
My drilled 180 stat gave me all the trouble but it is no longer a problem since I changed it out for one with fewer holes.

The cover looks good!

And I should be able to let people know about running without the cover during the winter. Modifying mine is one of my projects for when it gets too cold to play outside here.

The colder the intake, the colder the air the car breathes, the better performance and efficiency you'll get. It won't have any effects on actual engine temps. Yes, leaving the cover off completely is probalby best, in any climate, but why not keep it looking good?

Thanks Scott. Attention to detail is what I do best.
The blue car you see next to the SSEi is my 79 Formula T/A. It looks like the day I bought it new!
My SSEi only has about 14,000 mi on it and I don't drive it in the rain or snow...if I can avoid it.

Dude...YOU NEED TO DRIVE YOUR CAR MORE! Go ahead, injoy the Luxury with additude...I DARE YOU. It is almost 4 years old and it only has 14,000 miles on it...what is your problem? Our GTP is 2 years newer than your SSEi, AND it is stored winters, and not driven in the rain, and it has 22,000 miles on it! Our SSEi has 90,000, yes 90,000 miles on it. Of course its driven in all year round in all weather, but still. Yours spends a little too much time in the garage. I can understand not driving it much, but that is like barely ever driving the car. It isn't even broken in yet. Take it out on a big road trip and have some fun with it or something. I couldn't stand having a car that nice, and only driving it that often.

I'm sorry if I sound insisting or anything, but I just really think you need to drive it some more. Its a nice car, don't just let it set there.

BTW...that is a very nice looking L67...it looks brand new. (hmmm...wonder why)

I could almost take that as a flame.
I do a lot of quality driving living in a very small town that is bordered by water on three sides and the Coastal mountains on the other.
I get out of town as often as I can but when we do the trips are short and mostly Ferry rides. Most major trips with my family, we fly and rent a car. The year before last we flew to LA rented a Towncar and did the town, then last year we flew to TO rented a Deville and toured Ontario......never say one new SSEi the whole 3 weeks!!
My 25 year old Firebird only has 80,000 mi on her and my 15 year old Jeep only has 75,000 mi on it. I expect in 20 years when your GTP has long since given up its original drivetrain, my Bonne will only have 80,000 mi on her and still look like the day I bought it.

I can hardly stand not driving it on longer trips too. It hasn't been on a trip over 1 hour long yet. :(
Maybe this summer.......Albany Oregon Club meet.

Cars are meant to be driven, yes i wanted a low milage one, just cause i know it'd be in better shape. Ol' Blue eye'* has almost 200k on his, and it'* strong as hell. I have only put about 870 miles since oct 6th on the pearl, that incluedes 3 150 mile (round trip milage) trips home... And a BC meet (read: WOT). I go out in the country on nice roads to use it. And i'm not complaning.
