I wish my 3.1 was a turbo! Still a possibility

Nice Lumina! Have fun with it. Although it would look nice, keep the exhaust hidden.

Are you going to modify that engine like you did with your GP?

I want to put some stickers on it, because it will hint to people that it has stuff done to it, but it will be subtle. They will have to look for it pretty close, because it will probably be on the rear quarter windows and won't be very large, and it will say intercooled not turbo, so a lot of people won't have a clue anyways. If I had a video camera, I might take a short vid, but I try not to beat on it too much because the trannies for these things aren't very strong, and I don't feel like going through yet another one anytime soon.

I don't have any track times, and I probably won't be running it at the track, but it should be about the same as the TGP coupe. It has a chip (slightly different than the one in our other two) and a K&N filter, and thats basically all that car has. Since its on the same platform, it performs about the same. I would guess its a ~14.7 car, which is about how the TGP coupe performs. My STE has a lot of crap done to it, so it should be a 13.7 car with track prep, but I probably won't be running that again because of the tranny problems I keep having with it. Just to clarify, because I know its not obvious or anything and I don't know if I've even said it here before, but my STE is a McLaren as well (all of the factory Turbo GP'* were), so thats why I say coupe and STE because if I say McLaren I'm still talking about both of them really.

Are you going to modify that engine like you did with your GP?
Not to that extent. I got it so I'd have something to drive around, I don't need to be messing with it all the time. I'm going to cut the cat out and do a couple "free mods" to it, and throw the rockers I've had sitting around for about 6 months in it and that'll be it. I can't afford a tranny for it, so I just wanna save that as much as I can. And I don't want to dump money into mods because I want to fix up my STE and do a few more things to that. But, it should EASILY be a 14.5 car when I get done with it, with good conditions and a good launch it will probably be a 14.2 car or so, but I'll never know 'cause I don't plan on running it.

I'll see what I can do. I don't plan on buying anymore anytime soon. I'll tell ya what though, I'll sell you a Turbo lumina for $2k if your interested.

Dood, that is sweet! A turbo Lumina. I've always wanted to see how the turbo 3.1 performs. Is it better on top end or low? What you need to swap that engine into is the Pontiac 6000 or Chevy Celebrity. That would be super sleeper.
