Well shucks. By the way, how tough is it to get VVT and such to work with an aftermarket controller and/or are there tuning suites available for the LLT and such engines? To keep this on topic, is there tuning available for the 3.9 in this Impala, and why wouldn't Gunner want to use it?

The megasquirt3 is capable of running the variable valve timing, variable intake timing, and COP (though I think the 3900 is coil near plug) that the 3900 has. It can also run the direct injection of the LLT. But the first step is to get the MS to understand the crank reluctor of the new GM V6s. On that note, I've determined that the LS1 and 2005+ GMV6s use the same reluctor, so one of the MS developers re-wrote the LS1 code for a V6 and I'll be testing it this summer. It'* very exciting stuff.
