If you haven't gotten a trans yet, MAKE sure you get one from 4WD vehicle. You can't just pop the tailshaft off and put the transfer case on. The output shafts are different between the 4wd and the 2wd trannies.

Yup that'* been the hardest part about finding the transmission I want, most of em in the yards are 2wd. I found a place I can get a brand new one for just under $2k though, bellhousing and all. May end up having to go that route.

So after talking with my parents and uncle (who all have extensive towing experience), it was highly recommended I get an automatic since I plan on buying my dad'* 24ft enclosed trailer. Also looking into what I would need to go with a 4L85E, it would be about half the cost of converting to a stick.

Ughhhh decisions.
