First, pictures of it iced over! There was a week when ice hit the city and covered everything - buildings, cars, streets, and maybe some birds or something. These are from the last day when I had to unfreeze the SLO and finally drive it after a few days of sitting. Notice how the sun selectively melted exactly the ice that it could reach.





































Even our flowers were frozen!



Then, off to work:



I bought a brand new front trans mount, cut out completely the hydraulic piece both because it hits the headers and also because it tears so easily, and then I had a race shop make it look relatively awesome.










The rear trans mount is getting replaced with a brand new one, too. It may be modified slightly if it doesn't hold up too well with the headers having so little clearance, but I'm not sure until it goes in. Over time, the rubber of the mounts weakens, they get squishy, and then the engine/trans sink down. The best way to mod mounts is to practice on the old ones and then mod new ones.

I sent BillBoost a text message: "How not well off am I? I'm trying to replace the rear trans mount." He replied with a quick, "You're fully screwed." Noting I'd have to drop the subframe and move the power steering rack, I had some washers professionally set up to raise the rear mount by 3 washer thicknesses per stud. They don't teach this in shop class!

We did the rear trans mount today! Once the power steering rack'* bolts are broken loose, it'* easy! The reason my downpipe was rubbing the power steering lines so intensely is because the rear trans mount was horrifyingly squished and deformed. With the new mount in place, I'm all clear!
