Default Time to play a little catch up.. lots of pics

Hey guys, it'* been a while (almost a year :o )since I posted any updates about the car. Work has been keeping me extremely busy all the time. I've done a few odds and ends to it since the last real update. Projector retrofit, new fog lights, playing around with my horns, and just keeping it running. Rust is really taking its toll on the body. My rockers are getting worse and worse. With any luck, I'll be upgrading some time next year.

Anyways, he are some pics:

One of my first mods of the new year was painting the inside of my headlights:

They're in desperate need of some touch ups, the paint behind the passenger DRL bulb was too thin, and the heat from the bulb dried it out and caused it to flake. I also have to paint behind the projectors to eliminate some of the glare I'm getting.

Projector fog lights from Jason (eltatertoto), and an Indiana plate, which I'm still rocking

Got some fog lights for behind my grille, and later removed the projector fogs. I wasn't really happy with their output.

Blacked out the grille with plasti dip

Probably my most custom project, my projector retrofit.

AUX reverse lights

Fender stripes are back for a while

New lower fogs.

Some support for a local group.. Buddies Against Drunk Driving. All proceeds from the decals went to MADD

Minor damage from an old woman in a Corolla.

The summer included a few small road trips to places I haven't been in a while.

That includes most of the progress on the car in the last year. Some future mods I have been debating are a set of home made PVC train horns. I'm slowly getting everything together to make them, and basically figuring it out as I go. I have a 10 gallon air tank that I'm going to keep in the trunk, hooked up to a 12v compressor. I'm planning on having two hoses coming off it..one going to the valve for the horns, and the other will be a 25' air hose with a quick connect coupler on the end for an air chuck, blower, etc.

I'm also thinking about getting rid of all the blue interior lights and going to something a little more tame. Either a warm or cool white.

I know this has gotten quite long.. so I'll finish it at this..for now.

Thanks for looking guys.

I doubt I'll get a new fender. I'll probably just pull the liner and push it out from the inside.

Dad use to do his own body work, he had; should still be here somewhere, some heavy metal block thingys that were flat on one side and rounded on the other that he would use to work dents out. He told me the problem with a dent is that the metal stretches. It has been so long now but I think he would dimple large dents and then he would use a fibre mesh and body putty and when he was finished the dent was nowhere to be seen. I sure do miss me Dad; there are many times I wish I could go to him for help.

Hi Travis, looks like you got some winter happening there.
I like your lighting mods. What brand of rectangular fog lamps did you buy for the lower ones?
That is where I want to place two on my PA as well.
How did u bolt em in and how good is the light output when placed there?

Thanks Kimberly and Art!

The snow photos are from this spring. Not much snow here yet, just a couple frosty mornings. The rectangular lights came from Princess Auto, and they have a great output. They're much better than the ones behind the grille. I have them screwed into the bumper, as far back as they would fit.

That is interesting Travis. Are they halogen 55 watt per side?
I don't suppose u got a Princess part # do you? Or outer dimension size?
A small screwdriver on an angle I am picturing, to get those installed.
There is not a lot of room with a bracket, to work in that space.
Did they come with wires kit/ relay or you installed that separate?

They are 55w H3 bulbs, I don't have a part number off hand, but I'll do some digging tomorrow to see if I can find one.

I believe the outer dimensions are around 1.5" x 4.5-5" wide. They're a real nice size, lower profile, but still have a great output.

It took a but of work with a couple different length screwdrivers to get the screws in at a secure angle. And it did include a wiring kit, but it didn't cone with a relay.

art, on our cars, if you want them all the way back its easiest to get an angle drill and a bolt/nut. i tired a self tapper with a stubby driver and it was an absolute nightmare. angle drill took about ten minutes from drilled to installed. (i had the projectors i sent travis on my car first.)
