Default 2014 Buick LaCrosse Premium II

I just bought a new Buick!! This new LaCrosse is loaded with Nav, HUD, buzzing Alert Seats (weird but effective), Lane Assist, Park Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control (really cool in annoying stop/go traffic!), Emergency Brake Assist (Really works!), rear cross traffic alert, heated/ventilated seats, heated steering wheel, remote start, programmable instrument cluster, power rear sunshade, panoramic sunroof, programmable (sport/touring) Hiperstrut suspension, and 20 inch wheels. I am sure I have missed a bunch of features, but the point is this is the most technologically advanced car I have ever owned. I am loving it!

Brine new Lacrosse with all the bells & whistles..must be nice or... Sweet !!
I am trying to imagine Park assist alone. Having the car parallel park into a tight spot.
That must be a unique experience to say the least!
The emergency brake assist how does that work?
If you are not paying attention will it prevent a rear end collision..by measuring distance of vehicle in front of you and auto apply brakes?
I think we are headed down more automated roads soon.

Default Brake Assist

Thank you all for your kind words.

The Brake Assist applies the brakes if there is an imminent collision and you aren't braking, or it applies them harder if you aren't braking hard enough to avoid a collision. The manual says it will not see people or animals. I am not sure if it uses the radar that is used by the Adaptive Cruise Control, or if it uses the cameras on the car that are for park assist, lane departure warning and cross traffic warning. But, it works. The day after I bought it I was cut off on the freeway by a Jeep and I thought for sure I was going to hit him, but the seats started buzzing, there was a red flag flashing up in the HUD and the car slammed on the brakes before I got my foot there, hard enough that the anti-lock was activated. Kept my day old paint off that nasty old Wrangler. I agree, I think self driving cars are very close. I think it is the laws that have to catch up. The technology is already there. In fact there is a video on YouTube of several new Genesis sedans following each other, staying in the lines as they drive through a road course with no drivers. To stop them they just pull a car in front of them and stop. Kinda cool. I considered a Genesis, but there is just something about a big chrome toothy waterfall grill, a chrome delta wing trim emulating fins of a 59 Electra, and a sweep spear character line down the side like a 57 Roadmaster or 70 Riviera with faux chrome ports in the hood that gets my blood pumping and nobody does chrome better than Buick. Okay, I am old, The designers did a great job pulling in subtle styling cues of my favorite past Buicks. To me, it is major coolness with a bag of chips. And, with the noise cancelling technology and computer controlled suspension, nobody does a quieter smoother ride at any price. Nobody.

Default Attachments window is not working.

Am I the only one that cannot post attachments to messages in this forum anymore? When I click on 'manage attachments' I now get a blank window instead of the window that allowed browsing/uploading photos. I have tried it as a message in this thread, and I also tried to create a new thread and I get the same results...nothing. What'* up?

Merrill Hang in there please.
I will get William on top of this & hopefully he can help with some ideas on this one.
I don't know why you are unable to have the upload window in Manage attachments.
I just did a test from my home computer and all appears to be well & it went though ok..for me anyways.
Can you tell me you please are you using a home computer or mobile device?

I am using my laptop using Windows 7 Starter, but I believe I have found the problem. I have somehow blown out my browser. I was using Chrome, and I discovered that I not only had this problem here, but also on other websites. So I tried Firefox and Explorer and the Manage Attachments window opens properly. Don't know what I did to Chrome but now it hates me.

Although now I am fighting another problem. I am getting a message that there is a token missing when I tried to upload pictures. The only picture I could get to post is this pitiful selfie it took. I wanted to post some pictures of my new car in the fall leaves, but they must be too big. They all fail. But, the problem is definitely on my end. Thanks for your help. I will keep working on it.

I am sure we can get you back with uploading the photos. Maximum size for upload is 1200x1200 in Manage attachments. The token Warning is probably a result of too large a photo. Are you able to make a clip or copy of the original and downsize an image for trial upload?
A 1200x1200 or smaller image should upload just fine my guess.
With both Firefox & chrome you can reset your browser to original installation settings.
I would consider clearing the cache & cookies and follow the link below for Chrome.

Hope this helps!

Default ROAD TRIP!!

Just took my LaCrosse across Nevada and down the California coast, Vegas and back home to Utah. It is by far the smoothest and most comfortable car I have ever owned, and I have owned a lot. The Hiperstruts and 20" wheels really provide great handling and the adaptive cruise control makes this thing almost drive itself. I bought this car for road trips and I made an excellent choice. I only saw 2 other LaCrosses of this vintage on this entire trip. I don't get why there aren't more on the road. I saw dozens of new Impala and XTS. I am baffled. It is such a great car.
